Mobile 3.0 (Germany)

June 1st saw the launch of pre-commercial test transmissions in four cities. Full commercial rollout had been expected before the end of 2008, however various reports at the beginning of August suggest that the Mobile 3.0 consortium is set to wind down its DVB-H activities. It is reported that the backers of the service have had difficulties in marketing it to consumers in the absence of a cooperation agreement with the major mobile network operators.
