Technical: indoor coverage evaluation in urban environment and mobile coverage on roads, network architecture definition and cost evaluation.
Pre-commercial: evaluation of user preferences, analysis of different content formats, analysis of possible tariff ranges acceptable for users.

Pay-TV model, possibly integrated with advertising and interactive value-added services (VAS) on GSM and UMTS. The broadcaster provides the network and video/audio content and aggregates the multiplex. The basic offer must be available on any terminal, independent of the mobile operator selected by the user. The mobile operator may provide customer care and billing for Pay-TV, and revenue sharing on VAS.

Up to 10 TV services, including the free-to-air RAI offer and thematic channels (Rai News24, RaiSport,...) and one or more ad-hoc services produced for mobile terminals.

The panellists will not be billed during the trials.

1 main transmitter (ERP>1kW) plus 1-2 in-band repeaters (ERP<50W), covering the Turin urban area.

8k mode, QPSK 1/2, MPE-FEC 3/4, time-slicing.

Hierarchical QPSK 1/2 in 64QAM 1/2, alfa=2 will also be tested for a limited time.
